Writing is like being able to put life into a snow globe. It takes the things that are too big and scary and reduces them into a form that I can put away when I want and look at from a distance. It also takes all that’s good in life and captures it into something I can take out when I want and look at close up and keep forever. It makes the bad things into something I can hold…and the good things into something I can hold onto. Both help so much that I need that little souvenir of life.

Senior Sex(less) and the City: Episode #5

Mr. Pushy
Mr. Pushy doesn’t ask you to dance. He says, “Come on, let’s dance.” He’s a grabber. He tries to take what he wants because no one will give it to him…and he just can’t figure out why. He asks you out only minutes after he’s met you. An understandable strategy in his case. I think deep down he knows that if you get to know him, you’ll run away. Push off, Mr. Pushy! The delicate dance of courtship is not a sale that needs closing. And if it were…I’m not buying. I hate pushy salespeople, too.

  1. Ha! I just pictured Louis Tully in Ghostbusters! The little, funny, annoying accountant! He was pushy! LOL
And oh yeah....you DON'T want to be the unsolicited salesperson at Tammy's front door!

  3. Hi Tammy,
Another funny post. I don't like pushy people either.
Several years ago I was at an out-of-town training class for my job and went out to dinner and then to a bar for with some others attending the class.
After a few drinks, one of the guys--who was also from St. Louis--asked me to dance.
Hello? I'm married. Don't think so.
I think he thought because I'd had a couple glasses of wine I might dance with him. A gentle "no thanks" did not work.
"Oh, come on," he said. "It's just a dance."
Finally I told him, "There's not enough beer in St. Louis."
That shut him up. I think he left right after that.

  6. Good one, Bec!!

Love it, Donna! I hate it when people argue with me after I've said "no." Who knows, maybe it was the same guy?!

Thanks, Jules! You have a great weekend, too!

  7. There are all kinds of pushers out there, but these guys push themselves only push the other person away. You should write a book for Match.com on what these guys should NOT do. best seller! Guaranteed.
