Thank
you to Grandma’s Goulash for hosting Succinctly Yours, a delightful little meme
in which we are driven by Grandma’s compelling photo to come up with a story of
140 words or 140 characters or fewer. The bonus word was “jagged.”
She snuggled into him, her
breath jagged with anticipation. His Pierce Arrow had struck her heart just as
surely as if it had been fired from Cupid himself. 129
Her eyes might have been on his
face, but her jagged heart was on the horizon, her hand ready to steer if he
got out of line, and her foot ready to slam on the brakes if need be. 140
She leaned in, inhaled a jagged
breath and gazed up. She couldn’t believe her heart could be filled with so
much love! Plaid was her life, and his hat was exceptional. 137
Yet there was nothing jagged or
rocky about their journey: when they were out of the car, it was his adoring
eyes on her. 98
Gotta love the plaid! She must have told people, "PIML," like my sister used to tell me, "SBIML." Show Biz is my life. I don't know where she came up with that, but every time she'd do something dramatic and I called her out on it, she said, "SBIML."
ReplyDeleteYes, I believe PIML was hand-sewn into the lining of that coat she is wearing.

ReplyDeleteGolly Tammy - we followed similar strains, but on opposite sides! WONDERFUL.... YAM xx
We did, didn't we?! Lol!
DeleteLoved #3..."Plaid was her life..." Too funny!

Thanks, Pat!
DeleteThe plaid line was hilarious, Tammy. It goes perfectly with those goofy girl's eyes...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sioux!
DeleteNow this is right up my alley. Ah, Romance! :) Each one of this is terrific, and as usual you've given some surprises. I honestly can't choose a favorite this week.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lisa! I'm thrilled I can say I've been approved by a real Romance writer! :)
DeleteYou're on a roll again, Tammy! Loved the "plaid" line! And yep, I agree with Lisa, you could be writing Romance ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Theresa!
Delete#2 made me LOL. You are so good at these.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda!
DeleteYou are so good at these. #1 was my favorite, but I love the plaid line too!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Donna! I'm glad someone liked #1, because that was my favorite!
DeleteYou are so funny. Loved all the previous ones I missed too - the "island" and "groundhog" and now this one. I'd give this a whirl, but since I haven't been good at blogging lately and how could I even come up with anything as good as yours, I'll have to pass. You make it sound so fun and easy, but I know it's not easy!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Lynn! But really, you should try it. The fun is seeing all of the different ways people approach the picture. Some are serious, some are touching, and some are silly...and I am amazed at all of them.
