Writing is like being able to put life into a snow globe. It takes the things that are too big and scary and reduces them into a form that I can put away when I want and look at from a distance. It also takes all that’s good in life and captures it into something I can take out when I want and look at close up and keep forever. It makes the bad things into something I can hold…and the good things into something I can hold onto. Both help so much that I need that little souvenir of life.

  1. Thanks, Teri and Tammy, for organizing this. I'm sure it will be just as successful and fun as last year.

    1. This is Teri's (and MSB's owner, Vicki Erwin's) baby. I just help with PR. But I'm so glad you and the rest can participate and make it the success it's been in the past!

  2. Hmm...it looks like a big pot of good times and good intentions is currently simmering on the back burner. Best of luck with your event! Too bad a previous engagement prevents me from dropping in to stir the pot.

    1. I'm sorry you and your Chex mix won't make it this year! While we are on the cooking theme, I guess you have plans to melt more tiny plastic babies, huh?

    2. No, actually, to the babies. I just take them as they come. My son has an academic team tournament that Saturday, and he is not a driver. I can't make him hoof it six miles, even though we call him The Pony. Oh, and I made a batch of Chex Mix this morning. It was real, and it was spectacular. I had to sample it, of course.

  4. Tams, thank you so much for this wonderful post -- and for all the hard work you've done on PR. I know how time consuming it all can be, but I believe it's so worth it. And really, it's everybody's baby. Vicki graciously hosts us at MSB, but it's the writers, our love of story, and our desire to make a contribution, both through our words and with our time, that makes the whole thing successful. See you on Saturday!

  7. As usual, I have to whine because I live too far away to attend. Sending lots of support your way though!
